Once Metal is not utilized on the Mac version (a hardware graphic acceleration API set available since macOS El Capitan), they should have absolutely no excuse blaming whether the system is beta or not. They used to upset me blaming the system language settings while I was fed up with the terrible UI performance of Finale 2014 and 2014.5 under macOS Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan installed on a retina MacBook Pro. Wondering what they will blame next. Note that I purchased Finale 2014 but it was, no, is always too laggy to make me settle down finishing even one page.

I felt like those money I spent on it are totally wasted. I am an 80-year-old classically-trained composer who switched to MIDI in 1995. I assembled a small home studio using a pre-Power Mac OS with a 15″ tube-type monitor, an 88-note Fatar dumb controller, a MIDI interface, a Furman Power Conditioner, eMu Proteus 2 and Kurzweil MicroPiano sound modules and a Mackie 1202 mixer. I started with Coda Finale 3,2, and with it I was able to churn out a number of chamber and orchestral works and transcribe many of my early hand-written pieces in order to get printed scores and playback. The system worked beautifully, even though I had to shuffle through three large manuals in order to learn to use the features.

However, I was limited by the size of the ensemble I was writing for because I had to scroll up and down in order to view the score on the tiny half-page monitor. In 2003 I got a then state-of-the-art IMac and was able to view two whole score pages at once. I also upgraded to MakeMusic Finale software and was able to convert my old floppy disk Finale files into the new format (although some of them were corrupted and needed correction), I had to buy a new M-Audio sport 4×4 interface to get the system to work.
However, to my dismay, when I tried to compose using Hyperscribe there was a severe latency problem. When I improvised music from my controller keyboard, the sound lagged half a second behind the time the notes were entered, making the procedure maddenly impossible. Later, when I upgraded to Finale 2012 and switched to a PC with Windows 7, I encountered the same problem. I spent months going back and forth with Finale customer service and also the customer service of the hardware providers. The suggestions I received from Finale and the others were useless. Each one blamed the other.
I also had three different technicians come to my home and none of them could solve the problem, so my studio has been standing idle for the last few years. I noticed that MakeMusic has concentrated on adding a great library of juicy new sounds, tweaking the graphics and fine-tuning the articulations and expressive playback features. However, nothing has been done to make the Hyperscribe feature more user-friendly — particularly with the beat synchronization.
Because of this, I am holding out on getting a new Finale upgrade until MakeMusic offers a version with improved Hyperscribe. “If you used the Mirror Tool or the Tempo Tool, you’ll find them gone in Finale v.25. They probably won’t be missed.” Unless, of course, you used the Mirror Tool all the time for the last 20 years, and losing it increases the amount of time it take to write a score by about 50% and makes it a headache to keep tracks of which measures are supposed to be identical. I was never part of an online Finale discussion community until a few weeks ago, and I didn’t realize that the Mirror Tool was such a toxic asset.
Why would such a useful concept as dynamic copying of measures be thrown out? Forrest gump suite alan silvestri pdf converter. I don’t get it.
